Topp this

Italic
Somebody at Topps has a sense of humor. If you look at this baseball card, you will see GW in the stand (in focus) and Mickey Mantle warming up behind him.

-OMG! (link)
Assistant State's Attorney Stephanie Damiani said Beaulieu had only been out of prison for two days for assaulting the same victim when he went to her Clarendon Street home on Sunday with a bag containing the homemade explosives.
Police said Beaulieu first tried to suffocate the woman with a pillow, but then began choking her with his hands, yelling "Die bitch, why don't you just die." But when that failed, police said Beaulieu grabbed a cordless telephone and began jabbing her in the neck with the antenna.
Beaulieu then warned the woman he was going to shove the explosives in her mouth and light them if she continued screaming, police said.
Police said Beaulieu eventually let the woman go so she could get him breakfast. She immediately went to police.

ice and stuff...

We had ice and snow and wind. What we did not have was electricity. It went out at 5:00 but they had it back on by 8:00. The cable, however, took a couple of days to get back on. We are all fine and going on about our lives. Many don't have electricty yet so we feel lucky.
So...
-Here is a big ass sink hole. DAING!

-Here are some desks people made out of minis. Don't know why they did that, but they did.

-This guy makes some amazing card-houses.

Sorry, Leo

I know that Leo posted that Vilsack dropped out because nobody cared, and in fact most people did not even know he was running and that I had as much of a chance of getting elected as he did. But that is not the case. Nope. On the front of the Gazette today is a quote, "It is money and only money that is the reason that we are leaving today"
I guess he never stopped to think the reason he has no money is because NOBODY CARES!

This is a computer rendering of an actress that I have never heard of, but Stove probably knows. Here is a link to some more info about it.

stuff

Here is an old Mac ad. Gave birth to the current "I'm a Mac" ads I guess.

Here is some cool lazer grafitti stuff.

Mary watches Bill O'Reilly and I hate him. Tonight he called Clooney and the others "hollywood pinheads". He usually calls them "liberal pinheads" so that is new. But then he followed up by reading quotes from those same people calling his buddy GW an idiot, etc. and said how they can disagree with his policy, but they don't know him and that is just being mean. He is so full of shit. I sent him this letter today. See if he reads it.
Clooney and the others are actors with opinions. Even if Bill O'Reilly doesn't agree with them, in America they can express that opinion. What they can NOT do is push their personal political agendas down our throats on a "fair and balanced" "news" show. Only Bill O'Reilly gets to do that.

I guess Arizona is the place to live. It would seem they have solved all of the important problems that face the other states and now are taking on those fake bull nad-sacks that guys have hanging from the bottom of their trucks.

-Rosie, you fat biotch. Yea, she booked a whole cruise ship and kicked a family off even though they had booked the trip and planned it out. They said they did not mind sharing it since Rosie does not have enough fans to fill a boat. But Rosie said no. Lesbo's only.
Here is my question: The ACLU got involved in the fake bull nuts on a truck story above. What if some cruise ship said that they had a crusie for heterosexuals only and some lesbians wanted to join. THEN the ACLU would forget the bull nuts and be right in on it. NOTE TO ACUL: You are a joke now. You had a great cause and you screwed up your credibility to the extent that nobody listens to you now.
Sorry, I am almost having an opinion on politics tonight. I will stop that now.

Van Halen replaces Spinal Tap.

What a waste of a good band.

I don't know why, but I thouht this was kind of cool.

those wacky Canadians

Here is a bunch of Canadians that made a "redneck roller-coaster". Moved the steering and everything up to the couch above the car.

Here is a long video about how he did it.

Steve vs Bill.

Cool Steve. Not fat steve. Kind of funny.

just a thought...

Today I was thinking about the tiny hard drive I posted a couple of days ago. Then I started to think about the RAMAC, the first commercialy available hard drive. It cost about $250,000 a year to lease (in today's dollars) and weighed a full ton. It would take about 600 of them to hold as much as the postage stamp sized hard drive seen below. I know that a computer's CPU has a kazillion transistors on it and that is truly amazing, but to see some thing that small that has moving parts just blows me away. cool beans.

Why VISTA sales suck.

The fat Steve was talking about Vista and said that the reason that sales suck is because people pirate it. Yea. That's it.

Saturday

Man, this is a tiny hard drive. Wonder how much they hold.

Friday again?

Holy cow another week flew by. Work sucked ass this week, but it went by quickly. Another week of the house on the market and not sold. *ACK*
Here is a great quote I found on Daring Fireball. I thought Steve and Leo would appreciate it.
DRM is a lot like hiring Barney Fife to guard your record store. He irritates the paying customers while the shoplifters just laugh behind his back and walk away with the merchandise.

Sunday

Here is an NES cartrige that is on eBay. At posting it was bid up to $1,200.

Here is the hybrid car that Toyota needs to go ahead and build. A little too futuristic looking for me, but it kicks butt off the line and I could dig it.
Alright, back to work ya'll.

stuff

Found this on Fark. LEGO has come a long way since I played with them. This is a car making factory that somebody built. Kind of long, but I thought it was worth it.

FRIDAY!

Well just a quick update. It seems that GM caved to pressure from the International Foundation for people that should friggin kill themselves because they over-react to everything. They are changing the ending to the superbowl ad as mentioned yesterday.
I know that money is tight right now at GM but it would be nice if they could figure into the budget enought money to GET A SPINE! Stop caving into these morons.
Other then that.. have a good weekend all.

How ironic...

How ironic that The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention should JUST FRIGGIN KILL THEMSELVES. Yea, that is right. KILL THEMSELVES. Before they can reproduce. They are calling for an apology from GM and that they pull the superbowl ad where a ROBOT jumps off of a bridge. Oh, wait. It does not even do it. It was A DREAM. AND IT WAS A ROBOT. It was a commercial.
I have never heard of them before. Now I have. And I think they should just STFU. They can get on a bus with the ACLU and blow themselves up because they piss me off to no end. They take what are good causes and with their knee jerk over the top reactions to everything trivialize and even make a joke of the very causes that they tell themselves they are helping.

iPhone inspires stupidity

This dork says that the iPhone is not secure and that IT people need to forbid the evil iPhone. This guy is amazing. He can tell it is not secure even before it is released. But he concludes that it is a closed system and can not run third party shit to stop it from being corrupted and so it is not secure. But wait. If it can't run third party corupted shit then... Oh never mind.

-Guy in Oregon hits his 18 month old son multiple times with stun gun. Have fun in prision, BIOTCH!
-Guy here in Coralville won't be going to prison after he made a deposit to the bank with his stash of pot in it. Seems he went in and asked the bank to give it back and they did. No evidence. Case dismissed. LOL.

I was really impressed with Prince last night during the superbowl. Hella rain going on and he still pulled it off. They did a crappy job mixing it as I could not tell there was a bass player and could only hear a few cymbols from the drummer, but that was not his fault. I am not a big fan of his, but was relieved to see somebody just go out play the shit out of some music.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!

Getting ready to watch the Superbowl so that means eating lots of crappy food.

-ZINK is a zero-ink printer. Interesting concept but not sure of the advantages.

-Only in Florida can you go in to have a baby and come out with no arms, no legs, and not explaination of why.

Thoughts from Bill Gates

I read one of the many interviews that Bill Gates gave when they finally released Vista. It turns out that Apple stole all of their ideas from Microsoft. It seems that Microsoft took so long to release Vista because they took the time to make it secure while OSX was just puked out and gets hacked "every single day".

Yea, Bill. Stick with that story.

I mean, it’s fascinating, maybe we shouldn’t have showed so publicly the stuff we were doing, because we knew how long the new security base was going to take us to get done. Nowadays, security guys break the Mac every single day. Every single day, they come out with a total exploit, your machine can be taken over totally. I dare anybody to do that once a month on the Windows machine. So, yes, it took us longer, and they had what we were doing, user interface-wise.

Yes, although security is a [complicated concept]. You’re [referring to] the fact that there have been some security updates already for Windows Vista. This is exactly the way it should work. When somebody comes to us [after discovering a vulnerability] we’ve got [a fix] before there is any exploit. So it’s totally according to plan, and that’s why we have the whole Windows Update thing. We made it way harder for guys to do exploits. The number [of violations] will be way less because we’ve done some dramatic things [to improve security] in the code base. Apple hasn’t done any of those things.

WTF BILL?

FRIDAY!!

Just a quick jab at Leo's posting of a picture of Al Frankin doing somethign dumb and asking "this guy wants to run for senator?" . I am not into the whole politics thing, and do not want to debate it. But I thought I would offer up this bit of perspective.
This guy is our president?
