day off today :-)

Got the day off since I worked the weekend. It is 8 degrees outside. I am inside and will probably stay that way.
-As much as I hate the song "Lollipop", it is sad that the guy who wrote it starved to death. In a HOSPITAL IN NEW YORK!

-Here is a pretty interesting clip on how they cast engine blocks. Wow.

-Getting your HP scanner to play Fur Elise.. now that is one cool geeky trick.

-Wow, clear wheels. Who doesn't need that?

Saturday stuff

Gotta go to work this weekend. *ack* Surfed a bit before I left.

-Intel has new chip technology. Amazing how you can pack 410 million transistors onto a chip. (820 million on a quad-core)

-hey, for $150K you can but ECTO-1, the car from Ghostbusters.

-So what do you do if you have a left over supercharged 8.2 liter Mopar mill and you want to build a bike? Autoblog has one possible solution.

-While I was at Autoblog, I stumbled across the Tesla motor company (great name) who makes the coolest electric car around. Too bad it is so damn expensive.

guitar solos

-TOP GUITAR SOLOS: I usually hate those lists that magazines do. They usually piss me off because the best guitar solo of the year just happens to be on a song that came out that year. But this list is pretty good. The best part is that this person went out and dug up videos for each of the top 20. Nice.

-I got sucked into the Barrett-Jackson auctions this past weekend. Naturally the big story was the twin blower Caroll Shelby owned "super snake" 427 cobra that went for $5 million bucks. But they also had the piano that John used when he composed "imagine" as well as a 12 string that George played on (i think) the white album. There were a couple of OCC bikes that sold with the cars that they were made to tie in with. One was an old 'vette and another was a 68 charger. Those were kind of cool.

-I got to thinking about the aircraft bone-yard in AZ and looked it up. I had not been over it for a few years, so I checked it out. That is kind of fun to tour.

free iPods

-So if you are in the Apple store and they have the iPod nanos locked in a glass case so you don't steal them, the only logical choice left is to walk out with the whole case.
